ABOUT CRISTINA ESPINOSA

Cristina Espinosa (she/they) is a director of photography, camera operator, and assistant camera based in Los Angeles, currently pursuing a B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts at California State University, Northridge. Her work focuses on independent narrative dramas that translate underrepresented stories into visual narratives rooted in authenticity and emotional depth.

She has worked as Director of Photography on multiple short films, including En Contra El Orden Natural (@contraelordenfilm) and Shutter Speed which has been shown at The Great Film Club and Indie Film LA. Her experience also includes work as a 1st Assistant Camera on USC’s Afterlife (@afterlifethefilm) promoted on national broadcast, Channels Television. On top of that, she has worked as a 2nd Assistant Camera on several productions, including projects from the American Film Institute and independent films such as Cross My Heart and Burning of a Family Tree (@burningofafamilytree) starring Jack Haven from Netflix's Atypical for Kilgore Productions LLC.

Now she is branching out from digital to celluloid shooting and loading on 16mm film such as the Arri SR3, Arri 416, and the Aaton XTR Prod.​ Cristina focuses on cinematography that serves and elevates the story through natural light and available tools, maintaining a grounded, story-driven aesthetic.
