ABOUT CRISTINA ESPINOSA

Cristina Espinosa (she/they) is a director of photography and assistant camera based in Los Angeles, currently pursuing a B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts at California State University, Northridge. Her work focuses on independent narrative dramas that translate underrepresented stories into visual narratives rooted in authenticity and emotional depth.

She has worked as Director of Photography on multiple short films, including En Contra El Orden Natural (@contraelordenfilm) and Shutter Speed. Her experience also includes work as a 1st Assistant Camera on USC’s Afterlife (@afterlifethefilm) promoted on national broadcast, Channels Television. On top of that, she has worked as a 2nd Assistant Camera on several productions, including projects from the American Film Institute and independent films such as Cross My Heart and Burning of a Family Tree (@burningofafamilytree) starring Jack Haven from Netflix's Atypical for Kilgore Productions LLC.

She focuses on cinematography that serves and elevates the story through natural light and available tools, maintaining a grounded, story-driven aesthetic. Cristina is passionate about using cinematography to tell underrepresented stories with honesty and emotional complexity.
